The devotion to the Heart of Jesus has existed from the first times of the Church when meditation was held in the opened side of Jesus and in His stabbed Heart, from where blood and water came out. Out of that Heart was born the Church and the heaven gates opened for all of the men.
The June 16, 1675, Jesús appeared to Santa Margarita María of Alacoque. His Heart was surrounded by flames of love, it was crowned with thorns, with an opened wound of which it brought forth blood , and inside of his heart there was a cross. St. Margarita listened to Our Lord say: "Here is the Heart that so much has loved to the men here, and instead, from the greater part of the men has received nothing more than ingratitude, irreverence and disdain, in this sacrament of love."
